Many civilizations have mentioned them, whether used for religious rituals or as medicinal remedies since the ancient times.

Peoples of India, Sumerians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Chinese, Africans and Egyptians as well as the South American civilizations : they all used frankincense and Myrrh for multiples uses in health, spirituality and body treatment.

When Boswellia and Myrrh get subjected to fire, they release a soothing and agreeable smoke, the Sulfur principle in Alchemy : « the Oil ».

The spirit of this gum-rosin fills the whole house.

It has a frequency action and provokes a state of calmness at the emotional and mental level.

Frankincense is still used today, mostly to purify a place, for prayers, praises, benedictions, in all civilizations. It has also been used in medicinal preparation for over 10 000 years.

The Oliban Frankincense resin is produced from a resin harvested from a tree called «Boswellia Sacra» , family of the Burseraceae in the current Sultanate of Oman. There are other places of production : Somalia, Yemen and India where mostly (to only name a few) the « Boswellia Serrata, Carterii and Frereana » are produced.

Myrrh is a gum-rosin coming from the tree « Commiphora Myrrha ».

The Egyptians have known about frankincense and Myrrh since the Summer era and made an ingredient of « Kyphi » of it. As for the Hebrews, it is one of the principal components of the holy anointing oil. The perfume of Myrrh is mentioned seven times in the «Song of Songs» also called the «Song of Solomon», a book of the Holy Bible.

The Queen of Sheba brought the «Boswellia Sacra» frankincense to Jerusalem (Salem) for its encounter with the King Solomon ( Melchizedech).

According to Herodotus, the young Phenix embalmed his Father’s dead body in an egg of Myrrh.

Hippocrates, Plutarch, Pliny the Elder, cite frankincense as a remedy for multiple purposes.

Alexander the great cites frankincense in the story of his adventures in the Indies where the keepers of «the Oracle, the Tree, the Sun and the Moon» all live in a green setting of incense trees.

A myth tells us of Adam receiving gold, frankincense and Myrrh from God as a consolation for having lost the Paradise…
